We turned the Log Jam into one of the most demanding portions of our program. As Scouts arrived we would pull them aside and give them an introduction to Logging Camp. Usually I would point out the different activities, explain why they would need adult supervision in the axe yard and that they would have to work for certain activities.
We ran most work compensation through the Log Jam, as well as all purchasing of items on the wanted poster. In combination with the root-beer sales, it wasn't unusual for there to be a constant line of about 20 people.

I spent the last week of camp neatly packing supplies away for the winter. If it were not for my staff who worked extra hard to provide me the time, it would not have looked this nice. I owe them a great deal. |
