Staff Cabin |
Last year the few nights I didn't pass out the instant I went to bed I would lie awake listening to coyotes yipping over a kill, loons calling to each other, and of corse Scouts too excited to sleep. Such was life in a tent. I also remember there was this one hole in my tent, right above my bed; and every time it would rain drip drip drip drip.
Fortunately this year Logging Camp got a cabin for the staff to sleep in. Unfortunately it was even less bug-proof than the open floor tents. |
we could be called upon to act our part. This was our one area to kick back, relax, read non-period books, and do paperwork in peace.
Table I built
After the Staff Cabin was built there was a lot of scrap wood laying around. One night before going to shower I had this brainstorm. WE NEED A TABLE, AND A CHAIR. And so we built both, except the tables legs.
The table sat around for weeks, irritating the Reservation Director (my boss) until I final decided to put it up. The rope could be adjusted raising and lowering the entire table as desired.
